Positive: La Luna Nel Pizzo is located in the tiny village of Gello Biscardo, home to just ten residents. The village is truly idyllic – like stepping back in time. The accommodation consists of five beautifully renovated village houses, two of which we had rented. One of the houses faced south towards the sun, making it warm and full of light even in autumn. The pool was nice and the garden around it truly idyllic. Our host Elisa was wonderfully kind and helpful. Once we accidentally locked the keys inside, and she came from a bit further away to open the door for us, always with a smile.

Negative: One of the apartments we rented was in the shade: it was cold and dark. Gas heating costs €4 per hour (!) and we decided not to use it. The heating cost is definitely something to keep in mind if visiting outside the warm season. The other apartment was bright and warm, but it had some local insects (a type of beetle) that made noise while flying. Although pest control was attempted, a few of them remained in the apartment. The restaurant’s dinner was nothing special, and breakfast was very basic. The pool area is located about 300 meters from the apartments. The property is located high up in the mountains, which is worth noting. The nearest grocery stores are small and not very close, and finding a good dinner restaurant requires quite a drive. After three nights we decided to change accommodation, as we got tired of the insects in one apartment and the cold in the other.
